Connect with your LFS academic advisors for confidential one-on-one booked appointments or Drop-in meetings on Zoom. You can also email your inquiry to lfs.advising@ubc.ca or connect with Academic Advisors and fellow students on ROOTSS discussion boards.

Booked Appointments 

To schedule a Booked Appointment, answer the questions below. If there is no current availability, check back later, as additional appointments become available every 72 hours. Alternatively, you can check the LFS Undergrad Events Calendar for the times of Drop-in Advising sessions. 

To help us meet with the maximum number of students, appointment times are limited to 15 minutes — please come prepared with questions. If you need more time, your advisor will schedule a follow-up appointment. 

Please note: Information collected via Calendly is for the purpose of booking appointments with staff members in the Faculty of Land & Food Systems. Calendly will collect your name, email, and other identifying information. By using Calendly, you are consenting to the storage of information outside of Canada. If you choose not to provide your consent, or have question about the collection of this information, please email us at lfs.advising@ubc.ca to request an appointment, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. 

Drop-in Sessions

You can meet one-on-one with Academic Advisors in Drop-in sessions. Meetings are held via Zoom or in-person. Check the LFS Undergrad Events Calendar for the times and Zoom links for all sessions.

For Zoom drop-in sessions, follow the prompts to join the virtual waiting room; your one-on-one meeting will begin as soon as space opens for you. Once we have reached capacity, we will close the waiting room. If the waiting room is closed during a drop-in advising session, try at a later time or a later session. Drop-in appointments are limited to 15 minutes — please come prepared with questions. 

Submit Advising Requests

We also have dedicated online forms for specific requests. These include a form for requesting an academic concession if your studies have been derailed by personal circumstances. There is also a form for requesting graduation checks or letters of permission.
